The National Children’s Facilities Network works to generate federal resources to support the development and improvement of early childhood facilities in underserved communities nationwide. We collaborate with other children’s advocacy leaders concerned with addressing the supply and quality of early childhood facilities across the country. The Public Policy Committee guides the network’s advocacy efforts, coordinates outreach to Congressional staff and organizes legislative briefings on child care facility financing strategies and issues.
The Network’s recent and current policy initiatives include:
Supporting the
creation of a federal pool of capital to leverage private
investments in child care facilities funding in low-income
communities;
The Network’s past achievements include:
Amending the federal Low Income Housing Tax Credit to Finance part of the cost of developing child care facilities in affordable housing developments.
