The Ohio Community Development Finance Fund (Finance Fund) is a statewide nonprofit corporation whose clients are locally controlled community-based nonprofit organizations serving low-income communities and for-profit businesses located in those communities. Clients develop and implement projects in single and multi-family housing rehabilitation and new construction, home ownership, supportive housing for the homeless, commercial revitalization, business development, economic development and community facilities.
Several products are offered to our clients; Linked Deposit Fund, PreDevelopment Program, PreDevelopment Section 8 Program, Economic Development Grant, Child Care Capital Fund, Ohio Quality Improvement Fund, and the New Markets Loan.
Since inception, the Finance Fund has awarded $38.5 million in grants and loans to 799 projects leveraging $410 million in private funds. These dollars have provided 12,380 homes for low-income or homeless families, created 4,651 full-time jobs specifically earmarked for the low-income population, and revitalized hundreds of thousands of square feet to rebuild communities, provide shopping, transportation, medical and social services for its residents. Through other programs specifically designed to affect Ohio’s children, the Fund has also made a huge impact on the children and their parents throughout the state. Those dollars have built 1,437 classrooms/care rooms in Head Start and low-income child care centers serving 25,837 children.
